About · Studio

We design for people, not for the camera.

Harmony of form and function, attention to the person. The rest follows.

01 — Studio

Tissu is a boutique architectural studio. We have been working since 2009 and have more than two hundred and fifty completed projects behind us.

We create architecture and interiors in which space, light and nature come together as one. Every project begins with understanding the way of life and the hopes of the people it is for — because good architecture grows out of understanding, not out of a catalogue of solutions.

We work on a small scale and take on few projects at a time. That is a deliberate choice — it lets each one receive as much attention as it needs.

  • 01

    House and interior as one

We design both at once — the massing is no more important than what happens inside it, and the interior is not tacked on at the end.

  • 02

A close team, a personal approach

We run few projects at a time, and the person who has the first conversation with you is the one who then leads your project.

  • 03

    Knowledge, experience and judgement

The technical and formal side is on us. You make the decisions, but each one comes to you described and costed.

02 — Founders

Two architects, one shared idea.

Magdalena Kostrzewa-Świątek

Co-owner · CEO

Magdalena Kostrzewa-Świątek

Co-founder of Tissu Architecture, an architect with a passion for detail and harmony. She graduated from the Faculty of Architecture at Warsaw University of Technology and today creates houses and interiors matched to the way her clients live.

In her work she favours simplicity, natural materials and coherence with the surroundings. She likes it when a space tells the story of the people who live in it. Outside work she looks for challenges — diving, artificial intelligence and neurodiversity — but finds real calm in everyday life with her family.

Agnieszka Zaremba

Harmony of form and function, and attention to the person, are the foundation of her projects. A graduate of the Faculty of Architecture at Warsaw University of Technology, she also studied in Berlin, Detroit and Latakia, and gained professional experience in Poland, Los Angeles and Sweden.

She combines varied styles with natural materials, creating spaces full of balance and emotion. She is inspired by people, nature and travel. After work she practises yoga, meditation and winter swimming — always in the company of her dog August.

03 — Team

Studio in Warsaw

The people who will run your project.

  • Katarzyna Dąbek

    Katarzyna Dąbek

    Lead architect

She studied Architecture and Urban Planning as well as Total Design Management at the Warsaw University of Technology Business School. At Tissu she designs interiors and buildings, supervises construction and coordinates the team.

She creates architecture that is timeless, functional and free of passing trends. She is drawn to light, structure and contrast, and is an advocate of natural materials. After hours she devotes herself to painting and illustration.

  • Paweł Brończak

    Paweł Brończak

    Head of project delivery

He makes sure every design becomes a considered space. He coordinates the whole process — from the choice of materials, through furniture selection, down to the details.

He draws inspiration from mid-century design, Danish minimalism and Polish craft. A landscape architect by training. After hours he is passionate about discovering design classics. He is accompanied by his cat Beza.

  • Aliaksandra Belaya

    Aliaksandra Belaya

    Architect — designer

She graduated in architecture from Brest State Technical University in Belarus. At Tissu she designs single-family houses and interiors, and creates 3D visualisations.

Her approach rests on the harmony between form and function. In her work she favours subtlety, soft handling of light and balanced proportions. After work she shoots film photography and cooks.

  • Julia Chmielewska

    Julia Chmielewska

    Junior architect

At Tissu, Julia designs interiors and creates 3D visualisations. She studied interior architecture at the Akademia Techniczno-Artystyczna in Warsaw, and before that at the Stanisław Noakowski Technical Secondary School of Architecture and Construction.

After work she goes on cycling trips and reads.

  • Aleksandra Chomicz

    Junior architect

She works on construction drawings and design documentation. She likes the moment when a loose concept turns into a specific dimension.

She is particularly interested in material — how it ages and how it changes in the light. After hours, ceramics and long walks.

  • Aryna Taimintsawa

    Junior architect

She works on interior concepts and visualisations. She gathers references, samples and colours from which the mood of a whole project emerges.

She believes a good space begins with proportion and ends with detail. After hours, illustration and travel.

04 — Before you choose

How to choose an architect?

  • 01

Choose someone whose vision moves you

Look through the projects and see whether you feel something of your own in them. A portfolio says more than declarations about style.

  • 02

    Understand the process and philosophy

Ask what you receive at each stage and who will lead the project. A clear process saves frustration later.

  • 03

    Pay attention to chemistry

You will work together for months and talk about personal things. The conversation has to feel easy.
